This is the third in a series of cactus paintings by me. I've always loved cactus plants and succulents but over the last few years in particular I feel like they've grown hugely in popularity. I distinctly remember this being launched when I was a kid, to much ridicule or general indifference from the public. It's no surprise it didn't last long, but today I think of Tab Clear as a nostalgic symbol of the 90s. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIf Andy Warhol can make art out of coca-cola bottles in the 60s, then why not make pop art out Tab Clear cans from the 90s? I'm especially pleased with the Tab lettering done by hand. One of the pictures shows me installing the painting to give you an idea of the size of it next to me. It may seem unusual but I see it as my equivalent of Andy Warhol's soup can, and an instantly recognisable symbol of city-living but rendered in a bright, eye-catching way.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAcross the UK these type of chicken shops are everywhere, and whilst I know fast food is unhealthy, this painting is intended more as a fun homage to fried chicken and a celebration of city living than a critique on anything.
