Aside from its striking red-veined leaves and eye-catching colours, the interesting thing about this Brazilian rainforest originated plant is that it folds up its leaves every evening, hence the prayer name. \u003cspan\u003eWhile I often avoid more traditional nature-based still-life subjects, this plant's image fascinated me so much that I've painted it a few times.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis version features more than one leaf, has a more realistic perspective and style, and they're set against a black and white tiled wall effect to contrast with the striking colours of the plant.
