Breaking away from food as a subject but keeping my graphic art style, my latest painting is of a cactus set against a zig-zag pastel coloured background. This is the third in my series of cactus paintings.

I've always loved cactus plants and succulents but over the last few years in particular I feel like I've seen more and more shops in London stocking cacti. They seem to be enjoying a resurgence in popularity because of their easiness to care-for and their suitability for living in flats. So I wanted to try to paint a few in my usual style, eschewing realism in favour of bold pop art and graphic styles.

It is painted in acrylics and Posca paint pens on a stretched cotton canvas. It's signed and dated on the back frame, as depicted.
