After seeing Pantone's Color of the Year for 2022 - a shade of purple called 'Veri Peri', - I wanted to incorporate it into a new painting of my own. I then realised that this bubblegum bubble image that I've painted before would be the perfect basis for it.

It's a strikingly 'pop art' image of a bubblegum bubble being blown up to huge proportions by a female figure. It lends itself to being adapted to different shades of bubblegum and different skin tones, which is what I've done here. The lush 'very peri' coloured gum is depicted against my trademark sky blue background, to create a bold image that would brighten up any room in the house, or be an ideal gift for someone with a sweet tooth. This is an A4 paper version of previously sold out canvases of mine.

It is painted in acrylics on thick high quality A4 paper. PLEASE NOTE: the painting doesn't come framed, however, A4 frames are easy to find.

I've been inspired to create work like this by classic pop artists like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Patrick Caulfield, and by modern day graphic designers and food packaging.
