This new canvas painting shows a box of the classic breakfast cereal Frosties based on the original design that was used in the 1950's. Frosties are simply sugar coated corn flakes, and like most children with a sweet tooth, I loved this breakfast treat when I was younger.
As you can see, back then the cereal was still called Frosted Flakes rather than the name we know them by today, however the iconic mascot Tony the Tiger was already in place. I love and am very inspired by vintage food packaging and graphic design. The idea is that the shape of the canvas mimics the shape of the box, creating a complete art object, as well as being a painting of it.

I've been inspired to create work like this by classic pop artists like Andy Warhol, and Patrick Caulfield, but also by modern graphic designers.
