Launched in the late 90s during my teenage years, the phenomenon of the Furby was briefly inescapable. Some loved them, some found them creepy, but for a period it felt like everyone I knew had one of the electronic robotic toys.
With their wide eyes and owl-ish appearance, the Furby was unique in that it would speak it's own language, "Furbish", that would then evolve more into the user's language the more you played with it, like machine learning.
Here the more rare blue-grey Furby is presented straight-on against a bright yellow background, all painted in acrylic paint and Posca paint pens, on high quality thick paper. I love revisiting retro items from the past, much as my hero Andy Warhol did with his Campbell's soup cans.
