That one friend who always buys you a lovely houseplant for birthdays and house warmings. This new miniature painting is another in a series of images showing people with objects obscuring their faces. Where previously I'd depicted the image of a person brandishing a stick of candy floss that's bigger than their head, here it's a woman presenting a bonsai-like house plant that's again covering their face.
The person is painted in my usual pop / graphic style, while the round bush of the plant is painted in a more impressionistic painterly style that shows the brushstrokes. I even added the little silhouette of a bird perched on the plant, plus some simple protruding branches. The end result is a colourful and humorous piece that would look good in any room of the house, or be the ideal gift for anyone who loves house plants.
