This entry in my series of pop art food paintings depicts a colourful selection of Liquorice Allsorts. Made by Bassets (est. 1899), these iconic sweets are brightly coloured, delicious, and uniquely British. In my painting I've depicted five of the most popular examples of the sweet laid out flat, with precise lines and circles providing the detail, rendering them almost as abstract shapes similar to a Mondrian painting.
The end result is a bold, bright, and colourful piece that would brighten up any home, but would probably look best in a kitchen, breakfast room, or kids room. It could also be an ideal present for anyone with a sweet tooth.
Due to the square nature of the canvas, it can be displayed pretty much any way, even diagonally, as shown in the photos. A picture of someone holding the painting is included to show the relative size.
