Continuing my love of presenting food objects in a pop art style is this painting of a popular retro ice lolly called a Nobbly Bobbly. They consist of a layer of pink ice cream and a chocolate centre, all encased in a thin layer of chocolate covered in sprinkles, or hundreds and thousands, that give it the 'nobbly' texture. They're delicious, and I original painted this during the never-ending heatwave of 2026.
I love the graphic impact of reducing the food items into a few simple boldly-coloured shapes, in this case the dots of colour representing the sprinkles contrast nicely with a subtle pink with white polka dots background.
The end result is a painting that would brighten up any room in the house, but would probably look great in a kitchen or diner. The painting comes unframed but looks great in a white A5 frame, as pictured.

My work, as ever, has been inspired by the classic pop artists like And Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein, as well as modern day graphic artists, and food packaging.
