With my love of pop art, kitsch, Americana, and birds, I couldn't help but paint the popular plastic pink flamingo that has become a feature of lawns and gardens across the world since the 1950s. Of course, being a big fan of John Waters also influenced this decision. The plastic flamingo itself is depicted in a side view against a classic white picket fence, blue sky, and green lawn. The end result is a bold bright colourful piece that would brighten up any home.

I've been inspired to create work like this by classic pop artists like Andy Warhol, and Patrick Caulfield, but also by modern graphic designers.
