Pizza has long been my favourite food so it naturally became one of my favourite subjects to paint too. This unframed A3 painting shows a hand taking the first slice of a fresh pepperoni pizza, leaving satisfying trails of molten cheese. Whilst the graphic representation of food is a regular theme for me, the inclusion of human elements is more rare. The edge of the pizza is depicted as part of a perfect circle cut into slices, all suspended against my trademark sky blue background.
As with the rest of my work my aim is for graphic, colourful impact over realism. The end result is a colourful painting that would brighten up any room in your home, or would make an ideal gift for a food lover.

I've been inspired to create work like this by classic pop artists like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Patrick Caulfield.
